SUDAN
REPORT GEORGE PAYNE - January 2000 |
Watch this short video on the prayer for the meetings we attended. |

These are some of the kindest people on Earth. We wish we could take every Christian in America to Sudan to witness what we experienced.
Muslim Sudanese Cabinet Minister welcoming the crowd of on the first day we were there. Yes I said Muslim.
The crowds grew to somewhere near 60,000 people on our last day there. Who cares about the size except that every one of them heard about Jesus. This was in the capitol city of Khartoum.
The meetings were held at the government owned parade ground. Many years ago the Pope spoke there. This is a military parade ground. We were the only "white" people there. Their love for us was humbling.
It was hot outside but we were grateful to find that it was winter there. The organizers rented 40 buses to bring people from all over this city of 1,000,000.
